Among the advantages of living on campus are the many opportunities you have to develop leadership and service skills that will help you achieve academically, in your future career and life.
Getting involved allows you to collaborate and create solutions that may impact the course of your life — and the lives of others.

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) works within University Housing and university communities to encourage awareness of the residential student perspective in leadership development, programming, regional involvement, and advocacy. RHA is comprised of a board of directors, individual hall, community, and apartment councils. Through involvement and positive engagement, residents are afforded the best possible opportunity to grow, learn, and establish connections within the residential communities.
Each location has a Residence Hall Association with executive and board positions that students can run for to further enhance their own leadership skills while giving back to the larger community through advocacy, programming, and leadership.
At ASU, Sun Devils live, learn, and thrive together. As incredible as living on campus can be, students can at times encounter challenges as they adjust to college life and a new set of expectations and norms. The university has policies that are designed to ensure every ASU student has access to a safe, welcoming, and healthy learning environment.
The Residential Review Board (RRB) is a group of students that provides peer-to-peer accountability for students that have alleged violations of University Housing Policy. The RRB meets with these students, discusses the alleged violation(s), and determines students’ responsibility, if any. Students that meet with the RRB have the opportunity to learn from their peers and understand the community impact of their actions. RRB Board Members develop leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

The NRHH at ASU promotes dynamic leadership experiences through the values of Service and Recognition. The NRHH Chapter finds opportunities for student leaders to be empowered while furthering their impact in communities locally, regionally or globally, while helping others reach their full potential.

Housing Renewal and Transfer
We want what’s best for you
Living on-campus is a great opportunity for you to engage with the ASU community as well as improve your academic success. Students who live on campus are more likely to have higher GPAs, become more involved in campus activities, have enhanced relationships with faculty/staff and become more embedded in the pulse of the ASU community.
Living on-campus is expected for all first year students. Students who attend our Polytechnic or West Valley campuses have the opportunity to live on-campus all four years.

Room Transfer Request
Current residents have the option to request to move from one room assignment to the other during set periods in the academic year.
In case of an immediate concern, please contact your community director or your community front desk.

Move Out
License Agreements with University Housing are for the full academic year and end in May 2025. Preparing for a successful move-out in May requires planning ahead. Hall staff are available to answer any of your move out questions. Please contact your community director to ensure a smooth move out.
Students who are NOT enrolled in classes and NOT living with us for the Summer term are expected to check out of their rooms no later than 12 p.m. on May 7, 2024.
Housing Safety and Security
The safety of ASU’s students, faculty, staff and visitors are among our highest priorities. In addition to taking measures to improve the overall security on each campus, Security features that help students be safe while living on campus include card access points for all outer entrances and access to professional staff 24 hours a day.
Hall safety measures are in place at each residence hall, including scheduled security checks, on-site personnel and security policy enforcement.
Hall staff are available 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays to assist with any emergency or crisis situations.
ASU Police as well as Campus Security Aides provide additional support to residents in the area of safety and security.
ASU provides a Live Safe app to all ASU students which provides alerts, important information and security features that will maximize the campus experience of students. Additional information can be found at: https://cfo.asu.edu/livesafe-mobile-app
Residents are required to meet visitors at the front desk area before entering the building and are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
Each resident must have their valid ASU ID with them at all time. This card restricts access into the residence halls to students and staff.
Students are advised of security measures, including not allowing an unknown person to follow them into the building (tailgating) to ensure ASU housing safety and security of all residents.
