Winter and Summer Housing

Winter Housing

Students who have an active University Housing License Agreement for the academic year are welcome to stay with us during Winter break and are expected to participate in a hall closing session for their community. Residential Staff will communicate students living options as well as guidelines and expectations for the specific residential hall.

Planning to stay through Winter break?

Students who intend to stay in their rooms on-campus during Winter break are to immediately communicate this with University Housing. More information about this expectation will be communicated via your ASU email in October or November.

Not staying for Winter Break?

If you are not planning to stay on campus for the Winter break, please review the Winter Break Checklist. Students are responsible for ensuring that the room is cleaned out thoroughly and are to follow every item listed.

Note: Please be advised that hall staff, facilities staff, and pest control personnel have the right to enter your space over the break for necessary safety and policy checks and/or to address any maintenance concerns.

Summer Housing

University Housing offers Summer housing on the Downtown, Polytechnic, Tempe, West Valley and Los Angeles campuses. Once your application has been submitted and approved, you will be informed of which community on your campus you have been assigned to.

It is likely that you will be moved from your current room assignment, and all summer residents will have to relocate later in the summer, as we prepare for Fall 2025 move-in. You will be required to be present to move your own belongings if/when requested to do so.

Students who are currently living on campus for the Spring 2025 semester, have a signed License Agreement with University Housing for the 2025-2026 academic year, and are registered for summer courses, are eligible for Summer 2025 housing. The Summer housing application will be available on the Housing Portal in mid March.

All applicants for Arizona State University Housing must read and sign the University Housing License Agreement. A non-refundable housing confirmation fee of $125.00 will be posted to the student’s account at the time of submission and will be due immediately. If financial aid is awarded and accepted, the confirmation payment may be covered by financial aid. By signing this agreement, the student agrees to reside in on-campus housing for the summer session. Please note this fee is for processing, preparing and reserving housing preferences. If the applicant is a continuing resident with a current Spring 2025 housing assignment, or is an incoming first-time freshmen student admitted for Fall 2025 who is required to pay the enrollment deposit to ASU, the $125 confirmation fee will be waived.

Details about the move-in process will be communicated through your ASU email when you have completed your Summer 2025 application.

Students without a Fall 2025 assignment through University Housing must move out of their summer assignment by July 15, 2025. Summer residents with a Fall 2025 housing assignment will be asked to move when their fall room assignment is confirmed as ready.

Students who live on campus this summer and do not have a Fall 2025 booking on-campus may still be asked to relocate to a different bed space on campus, so we are able to prepare for Fall 2025 move-in.

University Housing does not offer meal plans for the summer session. For information about dining options offered, please visit Sun Devil Hospitality or contact them at 480-727-DINE.
