ASU will require a test of all students living on campus for the Spring semester. Additionally, students may be chosen as part of our random required testing protocol throughout the spring semester regardless of if they live on campus or not. Find more information about the spring testing requirement and schedule, please review the message from University Housing provided below.

Dear Student,
With winter break now fast-approaching, we want to notify you of an important COVID-19 testing requirement for spring 2021. All ASU students living in University Housing must submit a negative PCR test result taken between January 2 and January 10 to be cleared to live in on-campus housing for the spring 2021 semester.
The only exception is if a student has previously tested positive for COVID-19 between October 1 and December 31, 2020 and their test result and medical release are on record with ASU Health Services.
- Students who stayed in University Housing over the winter break should plan to test at one of the on-campus sites between January 2 and January 4.
- For Arizona residents,we recommend you test between January 5 and January 7 at one of the sites listed here: https://biodesign.asu.edu/research/clinical-testing/testing.
- Out of state studentsshould test prior to traveling back to ASU then must test again after arriving to ASU. A negative test result uploaded to the ASU health portal or medical clearance from ASU Health Services will be required to stay on campus ahead of receiving a COVID test on campus. January 8 through January 10 has been set aside specifically for out of state students to test.
If you are returning to campus but not living in university housing, you should test for COVID-19 prior to attending any classes on campus.
Both on-campus and off-campus students must participate in the random testing when selected. If your plans include remaining on campus for any portion of the winter break, your continued adherence to ASU’s Community of Care health protocols and Daily Health Check is required.
Thank you for doing your part to slow the spread of COVID-19. You are helping to keep our community healthy. Good luck in your last few weeks of the semester! Please check your ASU email address regularly for any updates regarding winter break and spring 2021 COVID-19 testing.
